All morning I've been troubled by my inability to put into words precisely what really bothers me about this post by Todd Gitlin.  And I still haven't quite gotten there.  Maybe you, dear readers, can figure it out for me.

My response:

What may be troubling you about the post -- or really the Times piece -- is the continued attention and even compassion that people who were dead wrong about the Iraq invasion keep receiving... while those who were right from the get-go are still treated like disloyal malcontents.

P.S.: My pal Todd is one of the good guys.
